Meet... Karin

~Yep, that picture is a self portrait I did when I was a young'un back in 1969. I'm not quite sure why I'm sportin' me a pair of blue eyebrows though. I bet ol' Freud would have a field day with that one. I say forget matchin' your lipstick shade to your outfit, it's your eyebrows that should match.

~Well, my hubs and I live in a sleepy lil' hamlet in the rural Central New York countryside. This is our own lil' piece of Heaven and I thank the good Lord everyday for His blessins!!

~I have completely monopolized all the rooms in our 1861 farmhouse with fabric, sewin' needles, thread, doll body parts, paint, etc... and my hubs doesn't say a word! He doesn't even mind that I bake more dolls in the oven than casseroles.

~We have three "lil' girls". Hannah our miniature dachshund, who has an obsession with my Mark B-Gone marker. (Sewin' folk know what I'm talkin' about) She has chewed more than I care to mention. She will also smile for ya when you tell her how pretty she is. (Yep, it's true) Darla is our Boston Terrier, who gets a bad case of separation anxiety every time I leave the room and snores louder than any human bein' on this planet. She could really use a bottle of Beano too. Maybe Santa will bring her some for Christmas. Finally, there is Gracie our Chihuahua. She makes Hannah look like an angel. This 6 pound critter has my hubs wrapped around her lil' paw. Maybe she can get him to take out the trash.

~Growin' up, I was surrounded by the love of antiques and collectibles. My dolls are inspired by that love. I've been blessed with my Mama's God-given talent for creativity (along with her nuttiness) and my Daddy's sense of humor. I know he's watchin' over me from Heaven and crackin' a joke or two.

~I value God, family and country foremost.

Quality Craftwomenship...

~I have VERY high standards and take great pride in my craft. I have permanently coffee stained hands (and kitchen countertops) to prove it. There's a lil' part of me in every doll I make, and it shows.

~I believe in quality over quantity. My dollies (critters too) are firmly stuffed, hand stitched, painted and sanded to perfection.

~I have been creatin’ for as long as I can remember and will continue until these tired ol’ hands won’t allow me to. This is my passion.

~If my creations bring a smile to your face, then I know I’ve accomplished what I set out to do. It’s that simple.

God bless...

~Karin
